Large restricted hemispherical basket with a flat base. Coiled construction. Decorated with a tan anthropomorphic figure, a tan deer, and a black eagle on a mountaintop. Black and tan "Greek-key" pattern below the rim. On buff.
Commentary
The landscape design in the botton half of this basket which is an untraditional, large te-vin-ze-mal, occurs frequently in the baskets of the Chemehuevi living on Cahuilla reservations. -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection catalog, 1979
