Peter Paul Benazech was celebrated in England as an accomplished landscape engraver, and his series of English views is regarded as some of his best work. Benazech was a pupil of Francis Vivares, and worked as a draughtsman and engraver in London and Paris. His engravings are skillful and refined and consist mainly of landscape and marine subjects. His work is included in the Tate Museum collection in England and the University of Chicago collection.
