Early in life Edwards was a daredevil and clown in a circus. He moved to Los Angeles about 1910 and for 20 years was a teacher of stagecraft at Lincoln High School. During this time he authored a play entitled 'Flamingo Arrow." An authority on American Indians, in 1928 he founded the Yato Kya Indian Museum nearby in Antelope Valley. A self-taught artist, he experimented with Cubism in the 1920s, but was primarily an Impressionist who used feathery brushstrokes to create traditional landscapes. Exh: Group of Independents (LA), 1923; Eagle Rock Artists, 1929. AAA 1925; SCA. Edwards died in Lancaster, CA on July 19, 1953.
