Richards Ruben, 72, expressionist painter, died of a heart attack on July 21 in Venice, where he was teaching at Pratt Institute's summer program. In the '50s and early '60's he showed at Paul Kantor and Ferus galleries in Los Angeles. Ruben moved to New York in the '60's and began showing at Poindexter Gallery. Since the '40's, he taught at a number of schools, including Chouinard, Cooper Union, New York University, Columbia, and Pratt. Art in America, October 1998, p. 158
