Commentary
Help From a Street Medic: A street medic, a familiar figure on Berkeley streets during confrontations between police and demonstrators, offers aid to Sgt. William Eller, 45. The Berkeley policemen was knocked unconscious when he and three other officers were surrounded and attacked by anti-war demonstrators near the University of California campus on Wednesday. Other officers are summoning an ambulance by radio. Sgt. Eller was not seriously injured. Note his empty gun holster. The gun and his riot helmet were taken in the scuffle, but later returned, Berkeley, California.
