Restricted hemispherical basket with a flat base. Made with coiled construction. Covered with white, grey, black and brown dappled feathers, with long, pointed black feathers around the outer rim.

Deer grass, juncus, sumac, and feathers
Commentary
Like Pomo baskets (Cat. No. 103), this Cahuilla gift basket, or te-vin-ze-mal, is covered with feathers. Interestingly, the basket is woven with alternating tan and golden-brown circles that are visible only on its interior.
