Restricted hemispherical basket with a flat base. Made with coiled construction. Decorated with black diamonds on buff.

Paper card with black text inside the basket reads: "B 545 - INDIAN BASKET / Made by an old Indian woman who was / almost blind when she commenced it / and completely so when she finished. / She had a vision of a white man coming / to lead her people to happiness. / Claremont Colleges Museum / The Jonathan Tibbet Collection / Mr. and Mrs. Tibbet—Donors". Handwritten in black ink on card near bottom left corner: "1187".
