Hemispherical basket with a flat base. Coiled construction. Six-color decorative motif based on a central seven-pointed star.

Commentary
Five colors are used in this particularly fine example. The purple is not ttaitional in Cahuilla basketry, and it may have been produced with a commercial dye or with berries. -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection catalog, 1979
