Designed between 1633-1680 by Jacques Callot. The print was issued as a black and white facsimile by the British Museum in 1909.
Signed and numbered in plate: "Callot inv. et fec." On verso: Handwritten in graphite, "Le bûcher" / 570". (The inscription on verso just refers to the burning pyre.)
P00.23 and P00.24 have the same handwriting on the back. P00.23, P00.24 and P2009.1.2 are all from the series, The Miseries and Misfortunes of War (Les Misereres et les Malheurs de la Guerre).
