Commentary
Protesting Vietnam Policies: The sign conveys the attitude of sit-down demonstrators outside the closed gates of the White House in the early evening. Several hundred critics of U.S. policy in Vietnam held a four-hour rally in Lafayette Park, opposite the White House, and then picketed the Executive Mansion.
