Restricted hemispherical basket with a flat, buff-colored base. Made with coiled construction. Black line squares form a geometric radial design on the brown-orange background.

juncus, deer grass and sumac
Commentary
Traditional gift baskets, or te-vin-ze-mal like this example were small and round. They are decorated with vertically placed geometric designs. THe first several coils are wrapped with sumac. -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection catalog, 1979
