Rectangular box with close-fitting removable cover. Soft hide handles on either side. Cover has basketry handle. Faded red, green, and brown diamonds on buff.

Commentary
Large hampers, like this, were not traditonal; this one may have been made specially for a particular patron. The use of analine dyes for simple geometric designs occurs frequently in Jicarilla basketry. -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection catalog, 1979
