Commentary
Although the beadwork of these leggings is executed in the traditional horizontal patterns, the design field has become more complex and colorful. The difference in the layout of the vertical and horizontal segments reflects a concern for balanced design. The use of horizontal stripes, arranged in four groups, symbolizing the sacred number four, reveals the continued importance of traditional form.
