Moccasins decorated with very elaborate beadwork; even the soles are beaded. Geometric designs on a white background. Unfinished flaps.

Commentary
Sioux moccasins with beaded soles were often erroneously called "wedding" or "burial" moccasins. In fact, they were worn for many occasions. Old photographs show Sioux adults and children wearing moccasins with beaded soles at Fourth of July celebrations (Pohrt, 1977, p. 37). Moccasins like these are an example of heavy beading and extended design field that characterized Plains beadwork of the Reservation Era.
