Commentary
Chitimacha polychrome twillwork is among the finest work of its kind. Isolated figures and curvilinear lines are formed by using red and black dyed cane. The design is called "blackbird's eye." -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection Catalog, 1979-1980
