Commentary
In Plateau bags of most recent date, like this c. 1910 example, all of the design elements are produced with commercial yarn. Many colors are used, and they tend to be very bright. The eight-pointed star decorates one face of this bag, and a four-pointed star with what may be a duck motif enriches the other face. -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection catalog, 1979
