Sub-hemispherical basket with a flat base. Coiled construction. Three-pointed fret design in brown on buff. Dark brown feathers around the edge, and a Desert Quail top knot.

Commentary
The Cahuillas' usage of quail feathers was probably inspired by the basketry of the Yokuts who often used quail topknots as a fringe on their gift baskets. Traditionally, feathers were not used in Cahuilla baskets. -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection Catalog, 1979-1980
