Conical basket hat with flat base, made with coiled construction. Black and orange stripe on buff. Used as a hat; carrying net made of braided water fern is attached.

Materials
Deer grass, juncus, sumac, and agave

Commentary
When Cahuilla and other groups in Southern California used nets for carrying burdens on their backs, they wore special hats connected to the net for protection.
