Commentary
At Acoma, paint pigments are derived from a variety of materials. While kaolin clay is used for slip, blck is a combination of hematite and guaco and clays produce red and orange. This bowl's interior shows stone polishing marks. -from the Native American Art from the Permanent Collection Catalog, 1976
