Large oval wooden tray painted with a dragon at center. Geometric patterns are painted on the short sloping sides of the interior.
Marks
The artist wrote two inscriptions in ink on the underside, one in English and one in Spanish. The English one reads: "I painted this today / Sat., April 11 - 53, for you dearest / Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Moore, with love / and gratitude for all the kind / and delicate things you did / for us. Besides, you have been / the friendiest [sic] neighbors my / country could expect from / the Canal Zone. / [signed] Diana".
The Spanish one reads: "Mi querida Evelyn: / Bajo / la luz de nuestro sol han pasado / ustedes cincuenta el, treinta tú, los / mejores años de su vida. Yo sé que / no podrán ni querrán olvidar a Pana- / ma y que esta ausencia no será de- / stintiva aqui los esperamos con los / brazos abiertos.
No en vano han sido / los [illegible word] diplomáticos que tiemos / [illegible word] y tú Evelyn, la más versado / en historia [illegible word]. Los caminos / del interior anorarán tu paso. / [signed] Diana".
