This basket, which its Chemehuevi maker title "The Hunt," incorporates the traditional materials of the Cahuilla, rather than those of the Chemeheuvi on the Colorado River, whose baskets of willow and devil's claw resemble those of the Western Apache. The cylinder shape and design are not traditional either among the Cahuilla or the Chemehuevi.
