Commentary
The first funeral, carrying 114 bodies of World War II heroes, was met by an honor guard, representing six active-duty servicemen, as it arrived today from San Francisco, California at the Columbus (Ohio) General Distribution Depot. Tolling church bells in downtown Columbus mark the train’s arrival, Ohio, October 1947.
