Commentary
A funeral service is read over the graves of Lt. General William Henry Ewart “Strafer” Gott and his fellow passengers, killed when their plane was shot down over the North African desert, October 25, 1942. The wreckage of the plane lies in the background. General Gott was one of Britain’s experts on desert fighting, Egypt.
