Poland Today: In the towns, the music of rebuilding machines is played for the country murdered by the Nazis. In the country, the tiny farms that have remained unchanged for centuries are helping to feed Britain. A soldier of the new Polish Army stands guard in front of the destroyed monument to Poland's Unknown Soldier. Inside on the monument's black marble, all the battles of Poland up to the Battle for Berlin are inscribed. The Spanish Civil War and the Polish squadron from the Battle of Britain are included. The columns on top of the monument, like everything else in Warsaw, were fully destroyed and have not yet been rebuilt. The monument has become a national shrine again and is going to be rebuilt exactly as it was before the war, Warsaw, 1948.
