Commentary
Movement Man: Georgia State Representative Julian Bond is a national figure. As such, he is a product more of the peace movement than of the Civil Rights Movement that spawned him. Bond says the Civil Rights Movement has been "smothered" by the peace movement and has been relegated to a secondary role in the national conscience. Besides being an articulate legislator, Bond is also a professional lecturer whose main contacts are with college students.

Marks
On verso: typewritten title and typewritten label with artist's credit, title and date affixed.

Materials
Ferrotyped prints have a sensitive surface, usually shiny and thinner, because they are put through a press while still wet. Ferrotyping makes the surface of the photograph smoother. Light does not scatter as much on a smoother surface, so this increases contrast. That makes ferrotyped images better for press photography.
