Provenance
Christ and Roman Officer are labelled. "Private Prayer hand written on back. Most likely from a group prayer book (liturgical) (per Gerald Ackerman, Art History professor, Pomona College, 2/6/1987)

Commentary
Schäuffelein was a known pupil of Dürer. The back of the print is a page from a printed book. This book was probably published by the same publisher who printed the Schäuffelein in a book. He printed on Makulatur paper-- this is the name for scrap paper laying around. This is very rare.
