These ten color lithographs were hand printed by Ed Hamilton at Hamilton Press in Venice, California. State I was printed on White Rives BFK. State II on Cream Arches and State III on Gray Rives BFK.

Execution: The artist drew on ten sheets of mylar, using pencils and lithographic crayons, and black gesso applied with a brush. These drawings were used for transfers to positive working aluminum plates. The colors were printed as follows [getting?] progressively darker:

1. Light grey
2. Light grey
3. Light grey
4. Medium grey
5. Medium grey
6. Brown
7. Dark brown
8. Dark grey
9. Dark grey
10. Black

Size: 23 3/8 x 16", bleed image, torn and deckle edges.

Record of printing:
State I: 1 Bon a Tirer, 2 Printer's Proofs, 1 Archival Proof, 1 Shop Proof, 4 Trial Proofs*, 6 Artist's Proofs**. 20 edition.
State II: 1 Bon a Tirer, 2 Printer's Proofs, 1 Archival Proof, 1 Shop Proof, 4 Artist's Proofs. 20 edition.
State III: 1 Bon a Tirer, 2 Printer's Proofs, 1 Archival Proof, 1 Shop Proof, 4 Artist's Proofs. 20 edition.

* The four Trial Proofs were signed T.P.1 - T.P.4, and were printed on various papers, size 27 3/8 x 20".
** The Artist's Proofs for State I were signed A.P.A - A.P.F. The Artist's Proofs for States I and III were signed A.P.A - A.P.D.


All other proofs and impressions were destroyed. The mylars were destroyed, the plates were recycled. These prints bear the chop of the printer, and were published by Hamilton Press.

Marks
On recto: Artist signature and "2014 P.P." signed in graphite in bottom right corner of sheet. Hamilton Press chop mark to left of center on bottom edge of sheet.
On verso: "EH644-14JW" handwritten in graphite in bottom right corner.
