Commentary
With skyscrapers of the Loop in Chicago barely visible through a smoke screen, a tank and infantrymen wearing gas masks advance on a machine gun nest in their mock defense of Chicago’s lake front. Tanks, airplanes, anti-aircraft and machine gun units participated in this "war" staged as a warm-up for the Illinois 33rd Division of the National Guard military show, to be held in Chicago, May 1938.
