Reconnaissance picture of the Nazi airfield and aircraft works at Villacoublay, near Paris, just four hours after a recent raid by Flying Fortresses. Nine buildings, including hangars, workshops, and assembly plants, are either partially or wholly demolished by fire or explosives. The airfield, marked by 450 bomb craters, has been declared out of service. The remains of ten planes are visible in the ruins. This plant group was turning out at least 25 Focke-Wulf fighters each month. In addition, it is believed to have been used for the assembly of Junkers 52 transports and the repair of Heinkel III bombers, France, August 1943.
