Commentary
The U.S. in 1946: Ex-GIs a year after World War II at a “52-20” club. The "52-20" club was part of the GI Bill of Rights following the end of World War II. It was a provision that enabled all former servicemen to receive $20 of unemployment benefits per week for 52 weeks a year while they were looking for work. It was also used as a name for a bar at many locales across the USA, where veterans would often go to drink.
